From 1989 to 1994
I was a self employed builder.
I got into the water industry in 1994 were i started as a labourer working for Clancy Docwra I learnt concreting, setting up work sites. I worked on pumping stations, deep excavations, shaft work, main laying/service laying and transfer of services.Within the first year I was made up to a team leader and I carried on with Clancy Docwra till 2001.
From 2001 to 2004
I started with TJ Brent (now May Gurney)
I was employed to do water meter installation, ebco and stop tap renewal. Also I had to do a mixture of other jobs like relay of water hdppe pipes,carry out internal and external flow and pressure tests.
Also other jobs included burst mains and services, new builds (water gas electric, site tapings and moling (thrust bore).
In 2004 I became self employed and I started a small water company.
I know contract out to the companies who seek gangs to work on restricted areas. This is how I now have come to do the water hygiene training and how I became a hygiene assessor.
I'm currently contracting to Clancy Docwra on behalf of MFC for South East Water .
